Community Projects
These are a few projects that are supported by Just Kids, Inc.
BEADS OF COURAGE – children who are sick and getting lots of medical treatments receive a different type of bead that corresponds to their treatment. Our members receive the beads from the Beads of Courage organization and then package them up to mail out to the children.
GIFTS FROM THE HEART – school children in the Sierra Vista schools are referred to us by the school nurse or teachers when they see a need for clothing or shoes due to family hardships.
PROJECT GRADUATION – our members coordinate the Gifts Galore Store.
SCHOLARSHIPS – three scholarships are given to area high school kids for the college/university/or trade school of their choice. We also have a Cochise College Nursing scholarship for a second year student. Also, a Medical Assistant scholarship for second semester student.
GOLF TOURNAMENT AT MOUNTAIN VIEW GOLF COURSE ON FORT HUACHUCA – held in the Fall.
5K SHAMROCK RUN/WALK – dress in your best St. Patrick’s outfit and have some fun. This event is held at Tompkins Park at Buffalo Soldier Trail and 7th St. Watch for it on Eventbrite.
